| A couple of nights ago I went to bed a very happy chap, had a great practice where everything felt so natural, my stance was right, my throw was smooth and I hit a 180 without even having to aim 3rd dart, just followed through from previous 2, thought I'd finally cracked it and was full of confidence. The past couple of days my practice session have been shocking though, cant hit a thing and cannot find a comftable stance to get my eye right at all. Any tips on how to come through it chaps, was getting mad with myself |

| Personally, I view it as an 'ironing out' process.
Some days you're going to be untouchable. Some days you'll be useless. And others, you'll be just average. But here's the key to beating it; KNOW that this is a part of getting better.
What will slowly happen is that the bad sessions aren't as bad as they were, the golden sessions will be amazing, and, most importantly, your average sessions-which are 80% of the time-will become good sessions. And if you stick with it, your good sessions will eventually become great.
By this time, when the bad sessions happen once you're at that standard-which will still happen-they'll still be great by anyone else's standards.
It might sound convoluted, but the point I'm trying to make is that you have to accept that the bad sessions are inevitable, and once you do that, you will see them for what they are; times when your mind to motor function connection is ironing out the bugs.
If you don't sweat them, in time, you will shrug them off and produce when it counts; competition time. |

| sometimes your consentration level is not quite there and it can make a massive difference plus look at how relaxed you are if youve had a bad day and are a little uptight it just wont be the same |

| Incidentally, one thing that REALLY helped my concentration and FORCED me to play better was buying a Unicorn Pro Trainer board. It's basically the PDC tournament board but with 40% thinner trebles and doubles. Harder to hit targets means theres a need to concentrate and play better...it's about £30 from a180 darts if you use UK DARTS as a discount code. (No, I don't work for them...:-))
Seriously though, the best training aid I ever bought. |

| I always look at if you have a bad spell say a month it is just " Little Steps " on your way to improving .You will struggle but its how u come through this stage is how much ur standard moves up ....Be positive if u can hit a 180 in practice u can in a match and really try to believe in yourself and sometimes when u r throwing so well we all think " Blimey is this really me " well good news it is u mate ......Darts is a fantastic game coz of these situation .......I play county for Kent and if i have a poo one i just look to improve at Superleague and so on .........
Preperation is key ...get that right u wont go far wrong mate ....... _________________ Name & age - Steve Collins Nickname - The Impaler Where do you live - Tunbridge Wells , Kent Left or Right handed - Right Darts - Unicorn Ade Lewis 24 Gram Gold Maestro Highest finish - 167 Least darts - 11 19s or 20s player - 20,s Favourite double - Double 16 Favourite players - Phil Taylor and Eric Bristow Whats your average - County 29 ( 87 ) Superleague 27 ( 81 ) How long have you played - 22 years Favourite drink - Guinness Favourite food - Curry Favourite night out - County Away Weekend
