Hi Kevin,

I only started playing for a pub team 3 months ago and I am hooked!!! Got a board up at home 2 weeks ago and love it!! Do you have any tips or training routines to improve consistancy (other than the obvious practice practice practice).

I find that I will hit 20's regularly and then all of a sudden I will throw 20, 20 and then a 4 by mistake. Or when aiming for the bull I get two close or in and then one nearer a double! I do find that when I play a good player my game gets better. Maybe I concentrate more??

What routines did you do when you started out?

Cheers

Hi Craig,

I think its a matter of concentration, you say you play better when playing good players and thats because your obviously concentrating more. When practising maybe you could focus on particular areas of the board instead of just throwing, for example say you have to hit ten double 8s then ten double tops then ten 25s and bulls etc etc that way you will be more focused on what your doing.A variation of practising is always better than just chucking at the board, set yourself different targets to meet each day.I also find practising for half hour then leaving it for a while then go do another half hour and so on works for me so it doesn't get boring.Hope that helps mate.

Cheers

Thanks Kevin that is helpful.

Another question if I can. After playing today I have noticed that my frequent stray darts often go high. Would this sugges the darts that I am using are too light? I am using 22g.

What weight do you use (although I know I it is personal preference)?

Thanks for your help again.

Craig

Yes Craig it could be your darts are to light but it could also be that you need to play about with maybe different shape flights or length of stems.I use a shorter than usual 20gram dart which is balanced out with an extra long point.

Cheers
